City of San Fernando to host Civic Military Parade on June 12

THE City Government of San Fernando will host a civic military parade during the Independence Day celebration this June 12 and is expected to bring together different sectors of the city.

The parade is expected to start at 6 a.m., with government employees, military personnel, students, non-government organizations and students joining the celebration.

The city government is inviting everyone to join the commemorative program aimed at promoting unity and patriotism.

The parade will start from the downtown area going to the Heroes Hall wherein a wreath laying ceremony and the program proper will be conducted.

“Please bear with us as some parts of the City are expected to be congested. Attached is the parade route and traffic scheme for your guidance,” the city government said in a statement.

The parade will feature students carrying dozens of flags as well as mechanized units from the Philippine Army.

Personnel of the Department of Agriculture, Department of Trade and Industry, Department of Science and Technology are among those expected to join in the event.

The City Tourism Office said that the event is part of the city’s advocacy to promote awareness of the celebration among the young.
