CSF village chief shot dead

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO A village chairman in this city was shot dead on Tuesday night.

The victim was incumbent three-term Barangay Sto. Rosario Chairman Jesus Liang, 63,

He was shot by a lone gunman who remained unidentified as of Wednesday noon.

Initial investigation revealed that the victim was walking at the City Plaza Market when he was attacked by the suspect.

The gunman shot Liang on the head which resulted to the victim’s immediate death.

The suspect fled on foot heading towards V. Tiomico St. in the area, police said.

Liang is the second barangay captain in this city who was killed this year.

The first was Alasas village chief Alvin Mendoza who was ambushed last April while campaigning for a seat in the Sangguniang Panlungsod.
