DENR, Bataan forge land inventory partnership

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO - Environment Secretary Ma. Antonia Loyzaga signed a Memorandum of Agreement with Bataan province on the 1Bataan Base Map (1BBM) land inventory project.

The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) secretary along with Bataan Second District Representative Albert S. Garcia presented the agreement on the “1Bataan Base Map (1BBM).

1BBM is a land inventory project with a geographic information system that shows complete in-depth information about the land, water, and other key geographical features in the entire Bataan province.

The undertaking is expected to become a model for other local government units to replicate, pursuant to the government’s strides to establish the natural capital accounting system of the country.

Land Registration Authority Gerardo Sirios and Agrarian Reform Region-3 Director Arsenio Ponce committed their agencies’ support for 1BBM during the signing held at the launch of Project TRANSFORM (Transdisciplinary Approach for Resilient and Sustainable Communities) at the People’s Center in Balanga, Bataan last May 9, 2023.
