PERSONNEL of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH)-Central Luzon are monitoring vital road networks in Central Luzon amid the worsening situation of Taal Vocano.

Maintenance teams of the DPWH resumed operations for disaster preparedness and to assist motorists in case of scenarios.

Regional Director Roseller Tolentino ordered close monitoring of road-related untoward incidents via the agency’s exclusive chat group.

In a report from the DPWH, Tolentino instructed the frontline offices and teams to remain in their respective offices and continue performing their duties for the benefit of the motoring public.

“It is in these times that we must reinforce our vigilance to ensure the safety of our people,” Tolentino said.

As early as 6 a.m. Monday, January 13, 2020, the 14 District Engineering Offices in the seven provinces of the region -- Aurora, Bataan, Bulacan, Nueva Ecija, Pampanga, Tarlac and Zambales -- have posted their road condition updates with no reported cases of untoward incidents yet.

All national thoroughfares remain free of traffic congestions and are passable to all vehicles, the DPWH report said.

“Our operations will continue until Taal’s condition has improved,” Tolentino added.
