GUAGUA -- Eleven villages in Masantol experienced moderate flooding as a result of the rains brought by Tropical Storm Falcon, according to the situational report of the Pampanga Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) on Thursday, July 18.

In line with this, PDRRMO Operations Center at PEO Compound had activated and prepositioned Disaster Response Equipment and manpower on stand-by 24/7. This is to ensure all preparedness as well as precautionary measures are being undertaken and response resources are on standby for possible mobilization.

Disaster response units were also tasked to monitor coastal areas for possible increase of water level, and upland for possible landslides and flashfloods and implement pre-emptive or forced evacuation on all barangays that will likely be affected.

Falcon continues to move north and may exit the Philippine area of responsibility Friday, July 19.

But the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said moderate to heavy rains will still be experienced in areas in extreme northern Luzon, while light to heavy rains will be experienced over Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon.

Pagasa said the center of Falcon was located at 385 kilometers north northeast of Basco, Batanes, and packing maximum winds of up to 75 kilometers per hour (km/h) near the center and gusts of up to 90 km/h. It is moving north at 20 km/h.
