IN A bid to modernize the agriculture industry and alleviate the lives of the marginalized farmers in the province, Governor Dennis “Delta” Pineda led the distribution of different machineries to a group of farmers and 40 live goats to 20 individuals on Wednesday, February 13, at PEO Compound, Barangay Sindalan, City of San Fernando.

In cooperation with the national government, through the Small Livelihood Program - Philippine Rural Development Project (SLP-PRDP), at least 12 farmer associations received a total of 89 farming equipment that they can utilize to leverage their farm production.

Governor Pineda thanked the farmers for their usual support to his leadership and vowed to always prioritize the agricultural sector of the province.

“Bigyan na lang po natin ng pagpapahalaga ang mga programa ng national government gaya nito, at sana po ay makatulong ito sa inyong pang araw araw na kabuhayan,” he said.

He added that the Capitol has purchased the necessary equipment to help the farmers of the province and is always prepared to provide services that they can enjoy for free.

The farmer organization beneficiaries were San Juan Nepo Betis Farmers Association, four units of hand tractors with complete implements; La Paz Turu Upland Farmers Association, four hand tractors with complete implements and two shallow tube wells; Cruzian Multi-Purpose Cooperative, two rice transplanters and one mobilization trailer; Cansinala South Farmers and Irrigators Association, one rice transplanter and 60 knapsack sprayers.
