ARAYAT -- The Holy Trinity General Hospital in Barangay Plazang Luma formally opened its Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and Neo-natal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) facilities on Wednesday, October 23.

The Pampanga Information Office (PIO), in a statement, said Pampanga Governor Dennis Pineda led the opening of the facilities with Arayat Mayor Emmanuel Alejandrino.

Neighboring town executives like Sta. Ana Mayor Norberto Gamboa and San Luis Mayor Jayson Sagum were also present.

The hospital opened its ICU and NICU in an aim to cater to the needs of the patients. The hospital is the first to offer such services in eastern Pampanga.

"Before, most of the patients who have to be admitted in ICU are being transferred to San Fernando. That's why the people are clamoring for such kind of hospital services," medical director Dr. Sheila Samson said.

The PIO reported that the hospital has applied for affiliation with the Provincial Government through Governor Dennis Pineda in catering the medical needs of indigent patients.

"We are happy to have partnered with Governor Dennis Pineda in extending healthcare services to the people," Samson said.

The Holy Trinity General Hospital first began operations in 1998. It offers services in internal medicine, pulmonology, cardiology, neurology, gastroenterology, general and pediatric surgery, neurosurgery, orthopedics, ophthalmology, urology, ob-gyne, and rehabilitation medicine.
