CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- SM City San Fernando Downtown's Malling is More Fun in the Philippines campaign featured Kapampangan dishes in a culinary demo highlighting the many gastronomic delights of Kapampangan cuisine.

The Culinary Demo, headed by Chef Jeff and Chef Ryan of Hotel and Restaurants Association of Pampanga (Harp), presented two Kapampangan dishes: Binulong Paro (shrimp) and Pako Salad.

The said dishes were cooked with a twist, as the Binulong Paro was mixed with chicken drumsticks, while the Pako Salad was served with tinapa instead of salted egg.

Shoppers got to taste these sumptuous authentic Kapampangan dishes after the cooking.

The demo is part of the nationwide campaign of all SM Supermalls, in partnership with the Department of Tourism (DOT), to make "malling" even more fun.

"This nationwide campaign invites locals and tourists to experience why shopping, leisure and entertainment in the Philippines is truly more enjoyable," the DOT said.

The mall, for its part, said it will continue to serve as a venue for meaningful family bonding moments where everyone can indulge in extraordinary malling experiences such as bowling, ice skating, watching movies, pampering sessions, or simply having fun with the kids in air-conditioned comfort.

"Malls have become the modern day plaza and safe community spaces for families and friends to share moments together through shopping, dining, and fun experiences. SM's partnership with the Department of Tourism celebrates the best of the Philippines through a range of fun fairs and fiestas," chief operating officer Steven Tan of SM Supermalls said.
