City of San Fernando -- Third District Rep. Aurelio Gonzales, Jr. ordered the distribution of 570 sacks of rice to various towns of his district in a bid to continue helping local government units in their relief operations for those affected by quarantine efforts against the corona virus.

Gonzales tasked his personal aide Engr. Randy De Jesus in the distribution of rice to the towns of Arayat, Mexico, Santa Ana, Bacolor, and the City of San Fernando. The City of San Fernando alone received 200 sacks of rice.

The lawmaker said that he is also urging fellow lawmakers to reach out into their own pockets to help sustain relief and assistance efforts. Gonzales funded the recent rice distribution through his personal funds.

Just last month, Gonzales has ordered the distribution of 1,430 sacks of rice for the frontliners of the district who are manning checkpoints and doing surveillance of the health status of residents.

Gonzales said that 143 barangays received 10 sacks of rice. Gonzales said that he is in coordination with local officials for on-going assistance in terms of supplies and logistics. He added that local government units must intensify the implementation of the enhanced community quarantine to stem the spread of the virus.
