FIVE months after it was imposed, the liquor ban in Macabebe town, Pampanga was finally lifted on Friday, January 8, 2021.

Mayor Leonardo "Bobong" Flores signed Executive Order No. 01 Series of 2021, which allowed all business establishments with valid licenses to sell alcoholic beverages to resume their sale.

Drinking alcoholic beverages are still limited to within premises of private residences as compliance with the social gathering ban.

Flores earlier imposed a municipal-wide liquor ban as a precaution against the spread of the coronavirus.

It was maintained even during the holiday to prevent social gatherings, which may cause a surge in Coronavirus infections in town.
