MABALACAT CITY -- The city has been named “Most Improved Local Government Unit” by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI).

During the 6th Regional Competitiveness Summit held in Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) last August 16, the DTI bestowed the award to the local officials led by City Administrator Rosan Paquia.

Paquia said the award, which was signed by DTI Secretary Ramon Lopez, is an inspiration to serve the people of Mabalacat. “Inspirasyon natin ang bawat Mabalaqueno ditto. We will not rest on our laurels.”

The city administrator said Mayor Crisostomo Garbo for his part shares the award with the people of Mabalacat.

“Para sa lahat ng mga kababayan natin ito sa Mabalacat City,” Paquia quoted Garbo as saying.

Paquia added that the City Government, under Garbo’s leadership, is committed to continue its programs on health and medical assistance, peace and order, livelihood, solid waste management program, among others.

“We assure our people of a transparent and corrupt-free governance under the leadership of our beloved mayor, Cris Garbo,” Paquia said. (RGN)
