HUNDREDS of senior citizens in three villages in Magalang, Pampanga recently received their social pension for first quarter.

The recent distribution of pension in barangays Santa Lucia, San Isidro, and Lapaz is in line with the local government's social pension program for the elderly.

Every senior citizen in the town gets P4,000 every year from the Municipal Government.

With the assistance of the Office of the Senior Citizens Affairs (Osca), Mayor Romy Pecson prioritizes the distribution of social pension to seniors with ages 70 and up.

The local government allotted P3 million to provide the first quarter social pension of senior citizens.

Aside from the social pension, Pecson vowed to pursue other programs for the senior citizens.

Aside from the benefits they get from the local government, senior citizens in Magalang also get pension from the National Government's social pension program.
