CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- Mayor Edwin Santiago has celebrated his birthday Thursday, June 21, by giving gifts to senior citizens from several barangays in the city.

The recipients were 3,000 elderly from Barangay San Pedro, Barangay Santa Lucia, and Barangay San Nicolas.

Santiago coordinated with the city’s health, agricultural and veterinary offices; employment and services, and community affairs divisions; educational scholarship assistance program (ESAP); and the manpower development and livelihood training section.

Free medical exams, dental check-ups, anti-rabies vaccinations, distribution of PhilHealth application forms, employment applications for skills training, Fernandino access cards issuance and renewals, ESAP’s applications, pampering and health packs were granted to these elderly constituents.

Santiago thanked the senior citizens for being models to the new generations.

“These gift-giving ceremonies are always held for one day, just one day for thanking the senior citizens,” Santiago said.

According to Santiago’s timeline as a politician, this gift-giving project is his fifth.

The gift-giving ceremonies were all held at the covered courts of the said barangays.
