HIGHTIDE and the monsoon rains have caused flooding in 11 barangays in Pampanga according to the latest Situational Report from the office of the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (PDRRM) Council.

The report signed by PDRRM officer Angelina Blanco shows that at least seven barangays from flood-prone Macabebe town are now in flood water. The flooding in the said coastal town has been attributed to tidal and fluvial waters with floodwaters as high as two to four feet in some areas.

Flooding had been recorded in barangay Saplad, Candelaria, Santa Maria, San Gabriel, Tacasan, Castuli and Sta. Lutgarda.

At least four other barangays in neighboring Masantol town are also in floodwater due to high tide and the monsoon rains. Flooded barangays include Santa Lucia Anac, Santa Lucia Matua, San Isidro and Santo Nino.

Meanwhile, the report also said that no alert level has been raised along the Pampanga River Basin. Nine monitoring stations along the basin are still within normal levels.
