SOME officials from the City of San Fernando on Tuesday, August 28, received copies of the book “Honor: The Legacy of Jose Abad Santos.”

The distribution was part of the City Government of San Fernando’s celebration of National Heroes Day at Heroes Park.

Author Desiree Ann Benipayo of Philippine World War II Memorial Foundation personally distributed copies of the book to Santa Lucia Integrated School Principal Marilen Calma Munoz, District Deputy Grandmaster of Masonic District RIII Very Worshipful Nicandro Montes, City College of San Fernando Coordinator Rachelle Yusi, Councilor Ruping Dumlao, Barangay Dolores Captain Vilma Caluag, and Vice-Mayor Jimmy Lazatin.

“Since Jose Abad Santos is one of the important known heroes during World War II based on the Philippine history, I really want to let Abad Santos’ story be acknowledged by all Kapampangans, including his heroism, courage, and patriotism. I really hope that the children of this generation, students, and Fernandinos will really look up to him as a model,” Benipayo said.
