OFW recovers from Covid-19, returns home to Magalang town

MAGALANG -- An overseas Filipino worker (OFW) who tested positive for Covid-19 in June has recovered and returned home in this town on Tuesday, July 28, 2020.

This was confirmed by Mayor Romy Pecson, who said that Patient M5's recent swab test result indicated that the former was already healed from the virus.

"Ita pung kekatamung M5 a ibat keng abroad me swab ne pu at meg negative ne. Ngeni pu mekauli ne kareng kayang pamilya," the mayor said.

The patient arrived in the country on July 12 and was directly taken to the Jose B. Lingad Memorial Regional Hospital (JBL) for swab test.

Patient M5 was immediately taken to the New Clark City for quarantine.

Pecson, meanwhile, said the 10 close contacts of the town's sixth Covid-19 case, Patient M6, tested negative for the virus.

"We conducted contact tracing and we identified 10 persons who interacted with Patient M6. All of their swab tests turned out to be negative," the mayor said in Pampango.

Pecson assured the town folks that the local government, under his leadership, is doing its best to prevent the spread of Covid-19 in the municipality.

"Kekayung kabalen ku, 'e kayu migaganaka, ing kekayung talasuyu lilingunan na ngan ing eganaganang ayni," the local chief executive said.

He also appealed to his constituents to always pray for God's grace and the gift of wisdom.
