PORAC, Pampanga -- It seems President Rodrigo Duterte has serious reason to suspend the operations of all Chuzon Supermarket branches in Pampanga.

This, as internet users took to social media and posted various photos of Chuzon branches in Floridablanca and Guagua towns.

Photos of Chuzon Supermarket in Guagua town showed cracks on its walls and stairs.

Photos posted by Facebook user Reainer Gamad on Chuzon Floridablanca were shared 1,500 times on Facebook as of Thursday, April 25.

The supermarket showed more signs of damage from several cracked walls and pavements.

The photos were posted on Tuesday, April 23, and had received horrified comments from netizens.

Just before Duterte ordered the suspension of operations of all Chuzon branches in Pampanga, the Municipal Government of Guagua had already suspended Chuzon Guagua operations over public safety concerns.

Reports reaching SunStar Pampanga said that Chuzon Floridablanca had been closed since April 23 right after the quake.

Chuzon Supermarket is owned by businessman Samuel Chu, with four other branches in Pampanga: Sto. Tomas, Apalit, Guagua, and Floridablanca, as well as in Gerona, Tarlac and Mariveles, Bataan. Chu had presented himself to authorities after being “invited”.

Chuzon supermarket in Porac has been totally wrecked by the 6.1-magnitude earthquake on Monday, April 22.

The collapse of the four-storey building raised questions on the building’s structural integrity and on why it was totally destroyed while nearby buildings remained intact during the quake.
