THE sun may have been out Monday, July 26, 2021, but the destruction caused by the recent southwest monsoon was still being felt by farmers of Candaba town, Pampanga.

In Monday's report of the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office here, damages to crops sustained by the agricultural sector have hit over P21 million.

"In rice crops alone, our agriculture sector reported damages amounting to P21,679,117.60," the MDRRMO reported.

Mayor Rene Maglanque, meanwhile, said the Municipal Agricultural Office (MAO) is ready to assist all affected farmers.

He disclosed seedlings and financial assistance that may be availed of by farmers whose crops were destroyed by the heavy rains.

"The affected farmers were already identified by our MAO but those who may not be included in the report may report at the municipal hall," he said.
