CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- Instead of getting off from the office at 3 p.m., Governor Dennis Pineda dismissed office work at the Provincial Capitol on Monday, September 23, starting at 12 noon to enable employees to be with their families.

The shortened work time is in celebration of the first day of the 27th National Family Week Celebration, pursuant to the Presidential Proclamation 60 and Executive Order (EO) 241.

The event aims to "increase awareness on various family issues, enhance effectiveness of national and local efforts to carry out specific programs concerning families by generating new programs and strengthening existing ones, and promote collaboration among national and local non-governmental organizations in support of multi-sectoral activities."

The celebration started on Monday and will culminate on Saturday, September 28. This is to strengthen the Filipino family unity and relationship via a meaningful celebration that promotes Filipino values.

This year's theme is "Tungo sa Maginhawa, Matatag at Panatag na Pamilyang Pilipino."

Meanwhile, students and teachers were encouraged to spend mealtime with their families as classes and work in all public schools and Department of Education Region III offices were suspended on at 3:00 p.m. Monday.

Shortened work periods were also implemented in various government offices in Pampanga.
