Pampanga Covid-19 cases breach 9,000 mark

CORONAVIRUS disease (Covid-19) cases in Pampanga have reached more than 9,000 cases, according to individual reports of local government units as of March 22.

The total 9,838 showed Angeles City registering 2,597 confirmed cases since the start of the pandemic.

The Pampanga Information Office (PIO), however, still only reports 8,998 cases for the entire province as of March 22.

The PIO bulletin reported 7,561 recoveries with only 976 cases as active.

It also showed 461 deaths since the start of the pandemic.

The City of San Fernando ranked second to Angeles City with 2,018 confirmed cases, the City Information Office stated.

The capital city’s death toll is currently at 87, while 137 deaths were recorded in Angeles City.

The PIO also reported that 1,178 violators were arrested by local police for violation of the provisions of Executive Order 5, which mandated restrictions on movement and adherence to health protocols.
