Pampanga farmer places 2nd in agribiz program

TWO youth enterprises from Pampanga received awards and financial grants worth P150,000 each during the Young Farmers Challenge: Kabataang Agribiz Program Regional Awarding held at Pampanga Capitol on Tuesday, December 7, 2021.

The Promise Land Integrated Farming and Trading by Kaecelyn L. Saltiban of Nueva Ecija took the first place for the venture on integrated farming and products manufactured from her own farm, such as chili garlic, picked chilis, tilapia, maja kalabasa and other high value crops.

Kapampangan farmer entrepreneurs Mary Elaine C. Timbol, Elvin Jerome Laceda, Von Alvaro Payumo, Elijah Joseph C. Timbol, Vivien Abbie Ramos who represented Sakahon of Pampanga, were hailed as second placers for their venture on high-value crops and modernization of market engagement and widening market linkages.

Third placer Sunshine Ae L’s Farm, represented by Jennie Lizza P. Flores from Pampanga, showcased agri-entrepreneurship on quail farming.

The financial grant will serve as an additional capital for the planned innovative agri-based micro-enterprises.

The regional awardees will be the entry of Central Luzon on the National Young Farmers’ Competition.

The presentation of the national winners will be on December 10, 2021 for Phase I and on December 13, 2021 for Phase II.
