Princess Clea Arcellaz

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO - The National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) reminded the public about the upcoming implementation of SIM Card Registration Act.

NTC said mandatory registrations of SIM cards will start two days after Christmas on December 27.

Mobile phone users will be given six months to register the SIM or it will be deactivated.

Owners of deactivated SIM only have five days to register for reactivation of their identity module.

Those who will not abide by the law will face deactivation of their SIM cards.

To register, subscribers need to give some personal information like complete name, birthdate, sex, and address, and submit any valid government-issued ID.

This will be done electronically through a secure platform or website to be provided by the telecommunication companies to their subscribers.
