SM Olongapo malls boost sanitation amid coronavirus

CLARK FREEPORT -- Shopping malls in Olongapo City have boosted their sanitation practices as a preventive measure against the spread of the novel coronavirus.

SM Olongapo Central and SM Olongapo Downtown put up sanitization zones equipped with alcohol dispensers in all entrances, restrooms and cashier counters to encourage customers to sanitize their hands upon entering the mall.

Alcohol dispensers were also put up in office entrances as all employees were required to sanitize their hands when entering and leaving the office. They were also given pocket-sized alcohol, which they can refill from office alcohol dispensers.

A sanitation team also frequently disinfects elevator, escalator handrails, glass doors, and railings.

Health advisories describing the common signs of novel coronavirus, as well as the preventive measures, are also visible in all mall entrances to raise awareness and to give proper information to mall-goers.

Front liners like guards and janitorial personnel were also directed to wear masks while tenants, as well as mall employees, have undergone an awareness seminar on the nature, prevention, and symptoms of the Covid-19, official name of the disease caused by the virus.

These preventive measures are strictly implemented for the safety of both SM Olongapo mall customers and employees.
