EVEN Central Luzon cops assigned at the Police Regional Office (PRO) in Camp Olivas were not spared from coronavirus disease (Covid-19) as some personnel tested positive after undergoing swab tests on Thursday.

PRO Regional Director Rhodel Sermonia said that 18 PRO-Central Luzon personnel and one civilian contracted the disease as of Monday, August 3, and most of the patients are asymptomatic.

"Our personnel, including the civilian who have tested positive, are now placed on strict quarantine and monitoring and were immediately transferred to our quarantine facility. We are also establishing contact tracing, including all our PNP (Philippine National Police) and non-uniformed personnel inside the camp as well as the families of those infected," Sermonia added.

Continuous swab testing is being carried out by the PNP Regional Health Service on personnel who are suspected to be infected with the virus, while Camp Olivas, the home of PRO-Central Luzon, is temporarily on lockdown to pave the way for the disinfection of camp facilities and restrict non-essential personnel.
