CITY OF SAN FERNANDO Vice Governor Lilia Pineda has ordered the monitoring of Pampanga residents' health in line with his Alagang Nanay preventive health care program.

The vice governor mobilized the Nanay Community Works, local health providers, doctors, and teachers in monitoring the health of Kapampangans.

This will draw statistics on the illnesses and diseases that affect most people in the province.

The province approved the preventive health care ordinance recently.

The program, however, requires data that would enable a better understanding of why some diseases are more prevalent than others.

With sufficient information, the province may be able to establish why Kapampangans from different areas are affected by various ailments.

Pineda had tasked personnel in the province’s health department to gather pertinent data as basis for policy-making, planning, and program development.

Pineda said the ordinance aims to institutionalize the Provincial Integration of Universal Health Care Law.

This law provides a province-wide health system, through the Provincial Health Office, for the delivery of the promotive, preventive, curative, rehabilitative, and palliative components of health care within the province.

The health system shall link at least one apex or end-referral hospital.

The Alagang Nanay Preventive Healthcare Ordinance of 2022, institutionalized the provincial integration of RA 11223 or the Universal Health Care (UHC) Law.

UHC mandates a province-wide health system for the delivery of the promotive, preventive, curative, rehabilitative, and palliative components of health care within the province.
