Pangan: Ease of doing business

Benjie R. Pangan

THE Clark Development Corporation leads the way with ease of doing business with its locators and investors and, by extension, the public.

It elicited favorable comments from a prominent locator thus: Aside from its location, infrastructure and tax incentives, the Clark Freeport Zone, managed by the Clark Development Corporation, has become an ideal destination for foreign investors because of its very transparent business process.

He adds: For an investor that is first coming in, we can attest to the ease of actually investing and doing business in the Freeport Zone versus going somewhere else in the Philippines.

Such inspiring words from an executive of a large investor inside the Clark Freeport Zone.

Indeed, the text of Republic Act (RA) 11032, an Act Promoting Ease of Doing Business and Efficient Delivery of Government Service, Amending for the Purpose RA 9485, otherwise known as the Anti-Red Tape Act of 2007, provides substance and justification to the claim of foreign investors in the Clark Freeport Zone.

In relative account, in Mabalacat City, RA 9485 is religiously implemented and has in fact its Business One Stop Shop, under its Business Permit and Licenses unit, to provide the public streamlined procedures to secure licenses and permits within minutes. Signs are aplenty detailing the step-by-step process and employees at the counters are ready to assist the public.

I wish to congratulate the officers and staff, led by my brother Perry, for winning the prestigious KBP awards for DWRW 95.1 for its excellent broadcast and programming.

Perry and his staff are always on the lookout for innovative trends and changes in sync with modern approaches in broadcast.
