NAGKATAG karon sa social media ang simpatiya sa mga netizens sa pag-off air sa gikonsiderang "The Filipino Media and Entertainment Group" sa telebisyon nga nakabase sa Quezon City sa kaulohan nga mao ang Alto Broadcasting System-Chronicle Broadcasting Network kon ABS-CBN.

Mituman ang ABS-CBN. Nawala sila sa kahanginan sugod gabii sa Mayo 5, 2020 gumikan sa gipagula nga cease and desist order (CDO) sa National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) subay sa gi-file nga reklamo batok sa kompanya.

Ang hinungdan, wala ma-renew nga prangkisa sa kompanya. Nasayran nga bunga sab kini sa giingong mga regulasyon nga nasupak sa ABS-CBN subay sa pamahayag sa Federation of International Cable TV Associates of the Philippines (Fictap) batok sa mga gihanyag sa ABS-CBN ngadto sa publiko sa ilang "Mahiwagang Box" nga naa ang ilang gitawag nga KBO.

Suma sa Fictap nga tungod sa insidente maoy hinungdan nga ang Office of the Solicitor General (OSG) pinaagi ni Solicitor General Jose Calida, mipasaka og reklamo batok ABS-CBN.

Nakapangutana karon ang pipila ka mga senador sama ni Senator Risa Hontiveros ug bisan sa laing punto ni Senator Migz Zubiri ngadto sa OSG nganong duna kini kontradiksyon sa giingong uniform views sa Senado, sa House of Representatives, ug bisan sa Department of Justice (DOJ) diha sa pag-grant sa NTC sa pagtugot sa Kongreso ngadto sa usa ka provisional authority sa ABS-CBN samtang unta nagpadayon ang lakang ug mga pamaagi sa pag-plantsa sa ilang prangkisa.

"I stand with my colleagues in the Senate and the House of Representatives that nothing should prevent the National Telecommunications Commission from issuing a provisional authority to ABS-CBN and its subsidiaries while the renewal of its franchise is pending in Congress," pamahayag ni Hontiveros.

Dugang sa senadora, "It is very strange to me why the Office of the Solicitor General (OSG) insists on contradicting the uniform views of not only both houses of Congress, but also the DOJ itself- to which the OSG is attached," pamahayag ni Senator Risa Hontiveros nga ang OSG suma pa nakakabit man kini sa DoJ.

Gani si Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra ang mi-proposed ug mi-confirmed sa Senate hearings nga ang Kongreso ang mamahimong mo-authorize sa samang lakang.

"The Senate, the House of Representatives, and the Department of Justice itself are all in agreement that Congress may allow the NTC to grant a provisional authority to ABS-CBN in the meantime. In fact, it was Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra who proposed and confirmed in our Senate hearings that Congress may authorize such action," butyag sa senadora.

Kasagmuyo sa senadora, "Even more questionable is why the government's chief counsel insists on shutting down a broadcast network in the middle of a health emergency and depriving the public of a critical means to receive timely and accurate information. The OSG has misplaced priorities, and should just focus its energies on supporting government efforts amid the pandemic.

Ang lisod lang ngari kay imbes ania ang nasud sa pandemya sa Coronavirus Disease 2019 (Covid-19) nga kinahanglan unta masayod sa mga nanggihitabo sa palibot katawhan, naibanan na hinuon og usa ka kompanya sa media nga dunay baruganan, mitabang sa komunidad pinaagi sa mga Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) niini ug misunod sa mga balaud sa press freedom.
