2 nabbed for illegal drugs in Tacloban

POLICE arrested two drug personalities in a drug bust Wednesday evening, April 1, despite the stringent quarantine measures imposed against the deadly coronavirus disease (Covid-19) in Tacloban City.

The suspects were identified as Gesulino Arzulon Padillo, 33, and Roel Dela Rosa Reandino, 41, both residents of the city.

They were nabbed around 10:10 p.m. Thursday in Barangay 85-San Jose, according to the Tacloban City Police Office-Police Station 1 (TCPO-PS1) headed by Major Edwin Canamaque.

Confiscated from their possession and control were three medium pieces of heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets of shabu with an estimated street value of P10,500 and a mobile phone.

Also recovered was one P500 bill used as buy-bust money.

The operation was conducted by the TCPO-City Drug Enforcement Unit led by Captain Winrich Laya Lim and PS1 led by Lieutenant Rando Moreno in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in Eastern Visayas.

The suspect will be facing charges for violation for Republic Act 9165 or the Dangerous Comprehensive Drugs Act. (SunStar Philippines)
