Armed men torch P13M worth of heavy equipment in Leyte

AT LEAST P13 million worth of heavy equipment were torched by still unidentified armed men in Mahaplag, Leyte Sunday, January 24, 2021.

The equipment burned were a backhoe and a bulldozer owned by a construction firm.

Responding elements from Mahaplag Municipal Police Station and Philippine Army’s 14th Infantry Battalion said the incident happened around 2 a.m. Sunday in Sitio Agotayan, Barangay San Juan, Mahaplag.

According to the report, more or less 20 armed men arrived at the said place and burned the heavy equipment.
