Babatngon ex-mayor surrenders, posts bail

A FORMER mayor in Leyte province surrendered and posted bail for her temporary liberty on Monday, January 6, 2019.

Charito Chan, 50, former mayor of Babatngon, was facing warrant for violation of Section 3 (e) of Republic Act (RA) 3019 as amended in relation to Section 4 of Presidential Decree 1802 (Creating the Gamefowl Commission) and Section 6 (h) of Ordinance 191 of Babatngon, Leyte dated October 21, 2019.

The case was docketed under SB-19-CRM-0157, issued by Judge Amparo M. Cabotaje-Tang of the Third Division, Sandiganbayan, Quezon City, police said.

The ex-mayor surrendered to the office of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group in Ormoc City.
