Calbayog city hall worker shot dead

A 59-YEAR-OLD employee of Calbayog City Hall was shot and killed Saturday evening, June 19, 2021.

Police identified the victim as Engr. Salvador Biliran, married, and a resident of the city.

Initial investigation disclosed the victim, together with his wife and grandson, were onboard their vehicle going to Milaflor Village of Barangay Dagum, Calbayog.

Upon reaching the “talipapa” of Barangay Matobato, the victim alighted from his vehicle to buy shrimp, however, two unidentified suspects suddenly appeared and shot him when he was about to return to his vehicle.

The victim was hit several times with the use of an undetermined caliber of firearm.

According to the police, the suspects immediately fled to an unknown direction after the incident.

The victim was brought to the Calbayog Sanitarium Hospital but was declared dead on arrival by the attending physician.

Authorities are conducting hot pursuit operation for the possible identification and arrest of the suspects. (SunStar Philippines)
