Covid-19 cases in Eastern Visayas reach 614

THE Department of Health (DOH)-Eastern Visayas reported on Thursday, July 9, 2020, three new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease (Covid-19), bringing the total number of cases in the region to 614.

Eastern Visayas Regional Covid-19 Testing Center released a total of 410 laboratory results, with 408 negative and two positive for the disease.

The negative results include the 70 employees from the Eastern Visayas Regional Medical Center, according to the regional health office.

The two positive cases are tagged as Patients EV-612 and EV-613.

They are from La Paz, Leyte, and Libagon, Southern Leyte.

Also, Divine Word Hospital Virology Laboratory released a total of 66 laboratory results, with 60 negative and six positive for Covid-19.

The positive results include one new case and five re-swab results of Patient EV-200 from Tanauan, EV-360 from Palompon, EV-365 from Tolosa, EV-449, and EV-576 from Palo, all from Leyte.

The new case is tagged as Patient EV-614 from Mahaplag, Leyte, who is a 21-year-old male and a locally stranded individual from Cebu.

Meanwhile, the DOH-Eastern Visayas announced five more recoveries from Covid-19 on Thursday, bringing the total number of recoveries in the region at 498 or 81.11 percent.
