Eastern Visayas logs 1 Covid death, 54 new cases

ANOTHER senior citizen was reported to have died of the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) in Eastern Visayas Monday, November 2, 2020.

The fatality was identified as a 60-year-old male from Calbayog City who died on October 31, 2020.

Department of Health (DOH)-Eastern Visayas also recorded 54 new cases on Sunday, November 1, bringing the total number of Covid-19 cases to 6,829.

The 54 new confirmed cases are from Tacloban City (2), Ormoc City (2), Alang-alang (1), Barugo (1), Burauen (3), Kananga (1), Palo (9), Tabon-tabon (1), Tolosa (7), Villaba (1), Calbayog City (18), Calbiga (2), Catbalogan City (1), Giporlos (2), Catarman (1), Pambujan (1) and Cabucgayan (1).

The new cases were recorded out of the 362 laboratory results from Eastern Visayas Regional Covid-19 Testing Center and the Divine Word Hospital Virology Laboratory in Tacloban City.

As of Monday evening, November 2, the region has 5,920 (86.69 percent) total Covid-19 recoveries and 64 (0.94 percent) deaths, leaving the total active cases at 845 (12.37 percent). (SunStar Philippines)
