Fire hits Robinsons Mall in Tacloban

A FIRE broke out at Robinsons Mall in Barangay Marasbaras, Tacloban City Wednesday evening, October 23, 2019.

Firefighters are still putting out the blaze as of this posting.

Initial reports said the fire started around 5:40 p.m. at the kitchen area of a restaurant on the ground floor. The fire then spread to nearby establishments, then to the department store located at the second floor of the mall's annex building.

Mayor Alfred Romualdez rushed to the area to check on the situation, while about 30 fire trucks from neighboring towns in Leyte have responded to the incident.
