Southern Leyte fisherman rescued in Surigao del Norte

A FISHERMAN was rescued in Surigao del Norte on Monday, December 2, a day after he went missing while fishing off the waters in San Ricardo, Southern Leyte.

Police identified the fisherman as Marvin Pajo, 32, a resident of Barangay Cuasi, San Francisco, Southern Leyte.

He went missing around 5 p.m. Sunday, December 1, after his motorized banca was caught in bad weather.

Around 1 p.m. Monday, he was rescued by barangay officials from Balite, San Francisco, Surigao del Norte.

The fisherman is now under the custody of Barangay Balite Councilor Junrey Coper.

His immediate family was already contacted, according to Lieutenant Colonel Ma. Bella Rentuaya, spokesperson of Police Regional Office-Eastern Visayas.

The fisherman's motorized boat, however, has yet to be recovered. (SunStar Philippines)
