AN ALLEGED suicidal woman was stopped by a policeman before she could jump from the third floor of the new bus terminal in Barangay Abucay, Tacloban City Wednesday, September 8, 2021.

Corporal Rico Estrella, personnel of Tacloban City Police Station 2, said he noticed a pair of slippers fell from the third floor of the terminal.

When the police saw a woman attempting to jump, he sprinted towards the building, grabbed onto the woman and took her down.

The woman was identified as a 20-year-old jobless resident of the city.

Police brought the woman, along with her husband, to the Women and Children Protection Desk for proper disposition.

In its initial assessment, police said the woman has financial problems and is exhibiting symptoms of postpartum depression.

The Police Regional Office-Eastern Visayas lauded Estrella for his heroic act.
