Teacher shot dead in Leyte

AN UNIDENTIFIED gunman killed a public school teacher in Matag-ob, Leyte Friday, November 1.

Authorities identified the victim as Michael Vincent Olorvida, 32, married, and resident of Barangay Mansalip, Matag-ob town.

In its initial investigation, police said the victim was about to drive his car away when the assailant suddenly appeared at the driver's side and shot him in the head. The victim's wife and two young children, who were also in the car, were unhurt.

The suspect fled on foot toward a ricefield and the upland portion of Sitio Lipgong.

Recovered at the scene was one magazine of .45 caliber with six live ammunition.
