Data Privacy Summit slated in Zamboanga City

THE National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) will hold a Data Privacy Summit on Thursday, November 8.

DICT OIC-Assistant Regional Director Guilbert Simene, said the summit aims to ensure public knowledge of the Data Privacy Act (DPA) in major cities in the country, such as Zamboanga City.

Simene said it also aims to provide the participants a deeper understanding of the DPA, the requirements of National Privacy Commission (NPC) for compliance, and how they can build a culture of privacy in their workplace.

The invited participants of the Data Privacy Summit are personnel from the local government units, national government agencies and selected private institutions.

Simene said that NPC Commissioner Raymond Liboro will grace the one-day Data Privacy Summit.

Among the topics that will be discussed are: creating a privacy management plan with privacy impact assessment; breach management; and, building a privacy resilient workplace and data sharing agreement.
