1 nab in P340,000 drug haul in Zamboanga City

POLICE operatives arrested an alleged big-time drug pusher in an anti-drug operation Monday, November 22, in Zamboanga City.

Police Major Shellamie Chang, Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula information officer, identified the arrested suspect as Hassan Jehandal, 52.

Chang said Jehandal was nabbed by the Regional Drug Enforcement Unit (RDEU) operatives in an anti-drug operation around 3:55 p.m. Monday, November 22, in Sitio Asinan, Kasanyangan village.

Recovered from Jehandal were 50 grams of shabu worth P340,000, a bundle of 89 pieces of P1,000 bills as boodle money and P1,000 genuine bill as marked money.

Chang said the RDEU launched the anti-drug operation following surveillance on the illegal activity of the suspect.

She added that charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 will be filed against the suspect, who was detained. (SunStar Zamboanga)
