AUTHORITIES arrested a suspected big-time drug suspect and seized some P340,000 worth of illegal drugs in an anti-drug operation in Zamboanga City, the police reported Friday, June 17.

Police Major Shellamie Chang, Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula information officer, identified the arrested suspect as Almudzrin Atalad alias Toto, 40, a resident of Ayala village, Zamboanga City.

Chang said Atalad was arrested in a buy-bust operation around 11:04 a.m. Thursday, June 16, at seafront in Baliwasan village, Zamboanga City

She said seized from the suspect was some 50 grams of suspected shabu packed in 11 heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets with an estimated worth of P340,000, a sling bag, and P1,000 marked money.

She said the suspect was detained at the detention facility of Zamboanga City Police Office headquarters for proper disposition. (SunStar Zamboanga)
