2 nabbed in Zamboanga drug bust

TWO people were arrested while some P4,800 worth of suspected “shabu” (methamphetamine hydrochloride) were seized in an anti-drug operation in Zamboanga City, the police said.

Police Major Hazel Fernandez, Police Station 4 chief, said Shelo Joy Polido, 28, and Julibert Kong, 25 were arrested at 9:45 p.m. Monday, July 22, in Camino Nuevo village.

Confiscated from the suspects were six heat-sealed plastic sachets of suspected shabu worth P4,800 and P300 marked money, she added.

The drug bust was carried out following surveillance on the illegal drug activity of the suspects, the police chief said.

She said the suspects were detained while charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 are set to be filed against them. (Bong Garcia/SunStar Philippines)
