3 hurt in 2 motorcycle collision

THREE people, including a child, were injured when two motorcycles collided along the national highway in Zamboanga Sibugay province, the police reported Monday, January 16, 2023.

Police Colonel Eduard Mallo, Zamboanga Sibugay police director, identified the victims as Tommy Rondina, 32, his back rider, John Cyril Rondina, three, and, Jimmy Flores, 46.

Mallo said the incident happened around 7:10 p.m. Sunday, January 15, along the national highway of Timuay Danda, Kabasalan, Zamboanga Sibugay.

Investigation showed that Rondina was driving motorcycle from Timuay Danda to Poblacion village, when bumped by another motorcycle driven by Flores, who was believed to be drunk, coming from the opposite shoulder of the road.

As a result, Mallo said both the Rondinas and Flores were injured when they crashed on the pavement.

They were rushed to the hospital for treatment. (SunStar Zamboanga)
