3 nabbed in separate anti-drug stings

THE police have arrested two newly-identified and a street-level target drug personalities in separate drug busts in the Zamboanga Peninsula, an official said Friday, January 3.

Police Major Helen Galvez, Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula information officer, identified the street-level target suspect as Lixan Jairan, 40 and the two newly-identified drug personalities as Roldan Dequilato, 28, and Jesus Lansane, 61.

Galvez said Jairan was arrested in possession of some P2,000 worth of suspected “shabu” (methamphetamine hydrochloride) when arrested around 3:30 p.m. Thursday in Carbon Village, Malamawi Island, Isabela City, Basilan province.

She said also recovered from Jairan’s possession was P500 marked money.

Seized from Dequilato were some P34,000 worth of suspected shabu and P1,500 marked money when he was arrested around 4:45 p.m. Thursday at Purok 4 in Crossing Sta. Clara Village, Naga, Zamboanga Sibugay, she said.

Galvez added Lansane was arrested around 6:45 p.m. Thursday in Manil Village, Leon Postigo, Zamboanga Del Norte.

She said seized from Lansane’s possession were some P2,500 worth of suspected shabu and P500 marked money.

The suspects were detained while appropriate charges are set to be filed against them, she added. (SunStar Zamboanga)
