3 nabbed in Zamboanga City anti-drug stings

THREE people were arrested, while some P7,900 worth of illegal drugs and ammunition were seized in separate anti-drug operations in Zamboanga City, the police reported Monday, November 25.

Police Major Helen Galvez, Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula information officer, identified the arrested suspects as Jerome Harry Espero Alipio, 34; Coloc Sebastian Daquel, 40; and Alhadzni Sawadjaan Jalani, 29.

Galvez said Alipio was arrested in a drug bust around 1 p.m. Sunday, November 24, at Saint Cecilias Home Subdivision in Sitio Lumiyap in the village of Divisoria, Zamboanga City.

Galvez said seized from Alipio were some P1,200 worth of shabu packed in three heat-sealed plastic sachets and P300 marked money.

She said Daquel was caught in possession of some P1,500 worth of shabu packed in two heat-sealed plastic sachets when arrested in drug bust around 6:20 p.m. Sunday in Purok 14 in the village of Sinunuc, Zamboanga City.

Also seized from Daquel were an improvised water pipe, six live ammunition of caliber .38 revolver, two live ammunition of caliber .357 revolver, a sling bag ,and P200 marked money.

Seized from Jalani were some P5,200 worth of shabu packed in 10 heat-sealed plastic sachets, and P200 marked money.

Galvez said the suspects were detained pending the filing of formal charges against them. (SunStar Zamboanga)
