THE Ministry of Health in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (MOH-Barmm) has opened four new barangay health stations (BHS) in Maguindanao del Sur to provide the residents with easier access to health services.

Dr. Rizaldo Piang, MOH-Barmm minister, led the inauguration of the BHS on Wednesday, January 11, in Barangay Manindolo, Datu Paglas; Barangay Muti, Guindulungan; and Barangay Kakal and Kapinpilan, Ampatuan.

Piang said each of the BHS was worth P2.5 million completed with P500,000 worth of equipment.

Two of the four BHS were funded under the Tiyakap Bangsamoro Kalusugan Program (TBKP), while the other two were under the Special Development Fund (SDF).

Piang emphasized that the inauguration of the new health stations is a milestone in the goal to provide optimum health and wellness services for the people in Barmm.

"Our constituents here in Ampatuan will no longer find it difficult to go to distant RHUs (Regional Health Units) or hospitals as they already have BHS available here to cater to their health care needs. There is someone here who will look after them," Piang said.

On the other hand, Dr. Tato Usman, MOH-Barmm director for operations, said, “Napakaganda po nito dahil kumpleto na po ang mga gamit at mayroon na ring mga health personnel na syang mamamahala at magbibigay ng health services sa ating mga residente (It is very beautiful because the equipment is complete and there are also health personnel who will manage and provide health services to our residents).” (SunStar Zamboanga)
