POLICE have arrested a suspected big-time drug pusher and seized P700,000 worth of illegal drugs in an anti-drug operation in Zamboanga City.

Chief Inspector Helen Galvez, Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula information officer, identified the arrested suspects as Majir Ismail, 45, a resident of Mampang village, Zamboanga City.

Ismail was arrested around 10:40 p.m. Wednesday, August 15, in a drug bust in the village of Mampang, said Galvez.

Confiscated from the suspect were P500 marked money and two plastic sachets of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride (shabu) with an estimated street value of P700,000.

The arrest Wednesday was the second biggest drug haul this week by the local police in their anti-illegal drugs campaign.

The first was on August 14 when two suspected big-time drug pushers were arrested and P800,000 worth of illegal drugs were seized in the village of Canelar, Zamboanga City. (SunStar Philippines)
