THE Mindanao-wide Boy Scout of the Philippines (BSP) Council is proposing to embrace eace communication after undergoing Peace Communication Seminar in Makilala, North Cotabato.

The seminar was conducted by the Youth for Peace Movement (RFPM) in coordination with the Army’s 39th Infantry Battalion (IB) during the conduct of 6th One Mindanao Scout Jamboree at Ipong National High School in Old Bulatukan village, Makilala, on Friday, July 28.

The 39IB said in a statement Friday, July 28, that the activity was undertaken to raise awareness among the participants on their roles in peace building as well as to capacitate them to be an effective leader through peace communication.

Noriel John Llamos, a delegate from Cagayan de Oro City, is grateful for the knowledge that he had acquired during the seminar.

“During the lecture, the council was able to internalize the importance of peace communication in nation building... we will integrate our learning in the policies that we will be crafting in the future,” Llamos said.

Peace Communication Seminar, through the YFPM’s banner program “StorYoung Pangkapayapaan,” is part of the BSP’s Youth Forum activity that tackles crafting policies and resolutions aligned in peace and conflict resolution. (SunStar Zamboanga)
