British nabbed in Ipil town

AUTHORITIES have arrested a British national in a law enforcement operation in Ipil town, Zamboanga Sibugay, a top police official said Tuesday, November 13.

Chief Superintendent Emmanuel Luis Licup, Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula director, identified the arrested foreigner as Ali Mukta Zahid, 53, a resident of Purok Palmera in Taway village, Ipil.

Licup said Zahid was arrested at 7:45 a.m. Tuesday upon serving a standing warrant of arrest for the crime of theft with recommended bail of P40,000 issued May 6, 2016 by the court in Ipil in his residence.

He said the British was earlier arrested based on a warrant of arrest for reckless imprudence resulting in serious physical injury and damage to property issued on November 9, 2015 by the Municipal Circuit Trial Court of Ipil-Tungawan-R.T. Lim. (SunStar Philippines)
