CITY Veterinarian Dr. Mario Arriola is this year's Civil Service Commission (CSC) Pagasa Regional Awardee in the 2019 Search for Outstanding Government Workers.

The plaque of recognition was presented to Arriola by lawyer Faida Calapardo of the CSC-Zamboanga City field office and Acting Mayor Rommel Agan on the sidelines of the flag raising ceremony in City Hall Monday morning, September 30.

The award was in recognition of Arriola's work ethics and strong leadership at the Office of the City Veterinarian (OCVet), being in the front line in the delivery of veterinary services, social protection of public health, safeguarding animal health and welfare and the promotion and development of local livestock and poultry industry.

The CSC Pagasa Awards is one of the three award categories under the CSC Search for Outstanding Government workers.

The other two are Presidential Lingkod Bayan and the Outstanding Public officials and Employees or Dangal ng Bayan.

Arriola has thanked Mayor Maria Isabelle Climaco-Salazar for the nomination, as well as those who helped in the documentation that served as the basis for the selection.

Arriola said he shares the award with all city employees, particularly the OCVet department, in the hope that they will "continue to offer inspiration to work and achieve more and help make a difference in the lives of our fellow Zamboangueños." (SunStar Philippines)
