CVO hurt in Sibugay town landslide

A CIVILIAN Volunteer Organization (CVO) was injured in a landslide in the province of Zamboanga Sibugay, the police reported Tuesday.

The Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula reported that the incident took place around 8:40 p.m. Monday in Gandiangan village, Imelda, Zamboanga Sibugay.

The police identified the victim as Carlito Romano, 60, who sustained injuries and rushed to Amorsolo Medical Hospital for treatment.

Investigation showed that Romano was inside the comfort room answering the call of nature at the back of his residence when suddenly the soil eroded brought about by a continuous downpour.

The incident also damaged the house of the victim, who was retrieved by the rescue team of the Local Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council. (SunStar Zamboanga)
